This week I met online with my Mentor Julia Bunneman from Photoworks UK and Assistant Curator Dnait Ariel. Danit’s practice focuses on Queer and marginalised communities and how they’re narratives are communicated and represented. 

Danit had a existing understanding of Transgender healthcare which helped when discussing the underlying emotions and narrative in my latest work in progress, Room 23. We considered the frustrations around Transgender health care and my recovery from top surgery, other practitioners and photobooks that are influencing my development and how I see the project progressing.

Moving forward, we considered various grants and competitions that I could apply for such as the Arts Council England personal development grant where they could support my application. We had scheduled another meeting to look further at my developing portfolio and discuss the application process.
