About
Clayton Heeley (1998) is a photographer based in Manchester. Heeley uses photography to explore his personal articulation of Gender and his experience as a Transgender individual.
Using a multi-modal approach incorporating archives, video testimony and self-portraits as well as performance, Heeley presents private moments to the public to convey his narrative. The camera acts as a platform for expression and education, challenging misconceptions around Transgenderism whilst also using the camera to document events and emotions in relation to his Gender Transition.
