Amelia Boston online talk

Last month, Amelia Boston from Pupil Sphere did an online
talk at the university to introduce us to Pupil Sphere and ways in which the
organisation could be helpful after graduation.

Pupil Sphere is an organisation aimed towards Graduates that
shares work to help establish graduate photographer’s practice. Pupil Sphere
also has a shop that sells photobooks that have not yet been published. Amelia
discussed Pupil Spheres’ portfolio reviews which can be purchased on the
website to gain feedback from a practitioner in a relaxed session. These
opportunities that Pupil Sphere offer will be helpful towards graduation when
my work is more complete and ready for exhibiting. I could even consider
sending a dummy book to the Pupil Sphere team to see if it would be eligible to
be entered onto their shop page.

Finally, Amelia discussed the Pupil Sphere end of year
exhibition. This allows students to submit a collection of images to be
exhibited in their online zine and catalogue. Amelia gave various tips to help
when submitting work to competitions and open calls such as always reading the
terms and conditions and to research the platform before hand to see what types
of photography, they are interested in.

Overall, Amelia’s talk was insightful and presented various opportunities
that I could submit work to towards graduation. This would help me develop my
practice after university.
